For this Special Thursday Cinema Night, 8PM EST, there’s no special theme, just two more good flicks. First up is Like Stars on Earth (2007), an Indian drama-comedy-musical about an eight-year-old boy who is sent to boarding school as the solution to his educational struggles. He meets an inspirational art teacher who connects with him, and sentimental antics follow. In typical Bollywood style, it is pretty much every genre at once, mixing some musical number in along the way. It is the only film to date of director Aamir Khan, who also co-stars. This is an extremely well-regarded film in India; it is currently ranked #119 on IMDB’s Top 250. We’ll give it a whirl.

After that is Exit Through the Gift Sop (2010), a documentary from legendary pseudonymous British graffiti artist Banksy. It follows his efforts to elude the attempts of a French shopkepper to capture him on film, and to turn the camera back onto the Frenchman. Hilarity ensues as Banksy constructs a profile of his strange would-be documentarian. Excellent reviews across the board for this, so let’s heck it out.
