The mainstream does; the radio etc. has become almost completely useless for finding new music by the year… 2007?
Underground and semi-obscure music scenes do tend to consistently bring out good music albums if the genre’s foundation is not rotten by itself (you are not going to see good disco polo and most likely no good Imagine Dragons copycats)
One tip - listen to albums. Old bands you like, new upcoming artists’ obscure releases, a band that only made this and then dissolved? It’s a great way to discover more music.
I was gonna post my favorite of this year, but have embarrassingly realized that except for some industrial albums, those have mostly been albums widely praised by the annoying crowd of american music nerds like rateyourmusic or Fantano listeners
I’ve never met a person under 40 that seems to like Imagine Dragons, but there must be a fandom. They must be like Nickelback for Zoomers and Millenials or somethin
