i think that it’s a bit like the recent gen z torch-and-pitchfork response to “shirley q liquor”. like rupaul suggested: they’re an ally and their shit is genuinely funny and that helps us heal by laughing at some of our biggest pervasive problems/divisions as a community; i think that something like that this is going to matter A LOT in the near future since everyone else is hellbent on lol-ing at all the leopards-at-my-face-ees. trump’s leopards are going to eat all of our faces if we don’t start helping each other instead of pointing and laughing with the schadenfreude strategy of mass coping from the election results.
also: most leftists have varying degrees of ignorance of popular culture imo and the genz’ers of tiktok were recently likewise similarly ignorant of gay popular culture from the 1990’s and tried to torch-and-pitchfork shirley-q for what they perceived as distasteful humor until rupaul weighed in on the discourse and i think that we’re having a mini-version of that here.

i think that it depends on the person’s circumstances and that the material conditions effect the way people act in relation to society.
i also think that societal progress also includes faster maturity and this is another mini-version manifested here with my 9 year old grand-niece. (assuming grand-niece is a thing a thing in english).
