Why can’t these dumbfuck gamers just stop playing the game they hate and do just move on like all the other normal people that play games (oh yeah because dorks and dweebs like him somehow get the attention)?
They are stuck on the lowest rung of the brain’s chemical reward ladder, which is hatred. It’s easy to hate things and doing so gives them their little hit off feel good. It’s deeply sad, they are like an animal test subject conditioned to hit a button for piece of food. They literally know no other way of feeling good.
Why can’t these dumbfuck gamers just stop playing the game they hate
Because they don’t hate the game. Its all performative. They love the attention that lashing out at Popular New Thing provokes. And they love riding the algorithm, wherein anyone talking about Popular New Thing frequently enough gets promoted to the top of the automated attention queue.
This is all about generating influence through attention seeking behaviors. The game itself doesn’t matter, save that someone is spending a fortune to promote mentions of it and that offers these shits an elevated platform to say provocative shit.
Fascists need an enemy to unite against to feel a sense of purpose, belonging, and community.
Also, the adrenaline and cortisol from gewtting yourself really worked up about something makes you feel alive, which many of them likely only get from expressions of rage and anger.
IMO first there are not that many actualy good AAA games these days anyway, anyone who seriously spent over $2000 on a gaming PC recently is stuck with either a couple of exceptions(e.g BG3) or just the mountain of garbage live services etc.
As a result its incredibly easy to rile up woke culture war as the reason why games suck now, shit like is exactly because Bethesda is definitely shit(probably since Skyrim) but they wont admit it. They bought Starfied even though FO76 is probably the worst AAA game ever. The gamer identity is a huge scam if they admit this.
They can’t move on to a game they enjoy because they have some very childish memories of when games used to be good, but they weren’t realy.
