Illegal immigrants should be first informed, second prevented from entering and third detained if they still decide to enter. They are law breakers by merely being in the United States without entering via port-of-entry or overstaying a visa. It shouldnt be dehumanizing but it must be manned and they shouldnt be allowed to leave. We have 23 million complete randos in this country. It’s neither okay nor sustainable and they should be sent back. Frankly if it is not profitable to be an illegal immigrant then they will stop coming (at least in such numbers). Ultimately the solution is prevention but no one wants to do anything about that be it physical barrier, more border guards or prosecution of American businesses. There is no kumbaya solution to this problem.

      Source?

You realize mass deportations would decimate the economy? Some cities are 10% undocumented immigrants; Florida is 5% undocumented immigrants. Undocumented immigrants are a significant part of the U.S. economy and culture.

It would also be a horrific endeavor. Police going door-to-door demanding documentation. Probably social surveillance similar to Nazi Germany (along with all the false accusations). 4 million child U.S. citizens would have their parents hauled away. There will need to be concentration camps to hold all those people before travel (if they would actually get around to doing that).

“Law breakers,” isn’t a very good argument. Everybody breaks the law (speeding, jay-walking, etc). The system is currently working as intended, and encouraging people to break the law to acquire an easily exploitable workforce. Incidentally, undocumented immigrants commit far less crime than citizens.

“Illegal immigrants” shouldn’t even be a term. They’re not “illegal”, they’re people. We need to knock this shit off and stop dehumanizing each other. Let’s do away with all this “visa” and “law breakers” nonsense, please?

I say we open the borders and just be done with this bullshit already, so we can all move on with our lives and focus on more important things, like ending homelessness.

No, they were born on the other side of a river and because of that they are not people.

I can’t go to Ecuador and just live there. I’ll get kicked out.

I have empathy. It’s just not expressed in the way you want it to be. Ultimately this is a humanitarian problem that shouldn’t exist but has snowballed into a massive quagmire that will require significant investment and policy changes. The most empathetic thing for the immigrant is to prevent illegal entry. If they have asylum requests they can come in through a port of entry. If someone comes in illegally there should be consequences since many immigrants did the lawful thing. Empathy is impossible with chaos. You have no idea who these people are or why they are coming. Many of these people are human trafficked and their families are under threat of narcos back home. The citizens of this country also deserve to be protected from unknown millions.

I replied to the wrong misinformation. You posted in another comment that migrants didn’t go to thier court dates. You’re wrong.

Yeah they should wait to be processed. Currently they are apprehended and then let loose to go live in America while awaiting a court date they will probably not show up for.

Illegal entry should defacto prevent residency. We have to put a stop to it. This is historic levels of uncontrolled migration.

Lol did you even look at the poll that we’re all commenting on? Clearly people are over the immigration bullshit across the board.

I dont care what you think I’m just pointing out that clearly someone does considering 47% of those polled support military camps for undocumented immigrants. That means even more support immigration policy that is less severe but still curtails the problem. This is definitely a top 3 issue in this election and calling me names isn’t going to change that. You’re the one coping.
