    I love that he reinvented himself. After his time in the air force, he had a schtick - the hippy dippy weatherman - that was working ok; but as he saw the country changing around him and counterculture movement growing, he dropped it and forced himself to create new material over and over again and in the process became the amazing critic of language and the way we think. That takes guts and determination.

      Yes, that was interesting. As a millennial, I was not aware of that backstory, which I think this article did a good job of capturing!

    Funny guy, yes, but honestly, in the modern sense, he’s boomer af. Actually, it makes me giggle at how my own early nonsense was just entirely my parents dumb, uneducated opinions on shit.

    Still, to be clear, an incredible and important person in comedy.
