Sadly in American politics it is, if you support anti-imperialism or the end of capitalism tyranny that makes you a radical leftist (according to the shit libs). I say we wear that as a bage of honor, I am a proud radical leftist.

Dude seems to think they’re part of some secret grassroots movement of genocide haters that no one else has ever heard of or something.

Congratulations! You’ve just proven the meme.

Your inability to understand the complexity of the situation and your desperation to boil it down into a small, singular point demonstrates it perfectly.

Weird ass fantasizers. We all know trumps position but acting like what’s currently happening is tame is insane.

Not an American but both sides are so fucking weird

You can be vocal against her stance in this conflict and still vote for her. Not voting for her because of Gaza worsens the conflict.

I’m not saying anything against voting her because I’m not an American, so i obviously can’t vote there.

I’m just calling out how weird fucks act like what’s already happening isn’t crazy. Both biden and kamala are complicit in the genocide and I will keep saying it. But lemmy crowd always goes to voting, I don’t understand. People outside America also use lemmy.

Yes, yes you can. Our shit political system means you have to pick one of 2 options, almost every anti-genocide person I have met is voting for her. This is because they aren’t idiots, and understand that Trump is far worse, and a non-voter is a Trump voters. You act like you have to love a candidate to vote for them, and that you aren’t allowed to want a candidate to be better.

What are you saying? That First-past-the-post voting doesn’t appropriately represent the people of the USA?

Everyone here knows you don’t care one whit about genocide, BananaBrain.

You aren’t raising money for any political action group or charity. You won’t go door to door or work a phone bank to raise awareness. You won’t do ONE. SINGLE. THING. to actually make a difference.

Each night you go to bed, you’ll smile thinking about all the comments you wrote on Lemmy that day, and how many people must be so impressed by your noble anti-genocide stance, all while Trump turns the remaining Palestinian territory to glass.

Ah yes, this is definitely a simple conflict with an easily identifiable black-and-white solution.

If a people are being genocided and you still have difficulties seeing the black and white clearly, that’s on you. It couldn’t be more black or white than this, the side doing the genocide is always black until it stops doing the genocide. I’m a simple man, doing genocide=black in any context, always.

How would you suggest Israel combat Hamas then, since you’re such a simple man and this is such a simple conflict?

That’s a problem for the Israeli state to solve, not me. There have been many ways in my view, but that’s not relevant to the question of commiting genocide. I don’t need to be an expert in order to categorically oppose genocide. There’s not a thing you can say that the Palestinians have done, real or imaginary, which would make a genocide defendable to a human being in touch with their humanity.

There’s no reason at all to discuss anything other than stopping the genocide in the current context. You don’t discuss possible long term solutions while a genocide is ongoing. After Israel stops commiting genocide, there’ll perhaps be room to discuss what to do going forward, but while it’s ongoing, there’s only one thing worth discussing: How to stop Israel commiting genocide.
