No party listed. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!
They don’t even mention that he’s a Republican until 7 paragraphs into the article.
Every damn time.
It’s technically not newsworthy, due to how commonly the “R” accompanies elected criminals.

D’s and R’s have both been guilty of this kind of thing. Affiliation doesn’t matter, this is corruption and cronyism. He should be out yesterday. Blind trusts or divesting should be a requirement for entering any elected office.
I mean, I agree with your stance that corruption is corruption and should be punished regardless of side. But you’re missing the point.
The point I’m making is that whenever it’s a Democrat being accused, the headline is “Democratic State Representative Caught in Ethics Probe” but when it’s a Republican, suddenly the party isn’t important until seven paragraphs down. It’s shockingly consistent.
I feel like a lot of the coverage of Eric Adams debunks this. I almost never saw his party affiliation listed in the titles.

They do, however, mention it in the second paragraph.
He may be high enough profile that they don’t bother. It’s certainly a counterexample in many cases, but a rare one.
He’s the mayor of New York. Of course he is a democrat.
