‘Family values’ bill is adopted despite being denounced by the president, rights groups and the European Union.

Kesaria Abramidze, a trans model, was murdered the day after the bill passed. Even if the president vetos it, this law already has a body count.

Oh, yeah, I probably should have specified. We don’t have a parliament in the US, plus gay marriage is recognized on a federal level, not a state level. It’s not unlike a red state to try to find a loophole— mine sure did— but I don’t think it’d get this far.

Yeah, I didn’t think it would go this far, so I was really confused for 5 seconds before I remembered the country. I think my brain skimmed over the “Parliament”. So the first thing I read was this, which didn’t seem too far from the US south’s policies.

It’s obvious that it’s about the country, at least for anyone outside the US.

All right. I’m still going to specify next time, because the only posts I’ve seen about this descended into arguing about the US education system and whether it’s acceptable not to know this, instead of focusing on how to help people.

Unfortunately the only real answer I’ve seen from Georgians online is that they need pushback from EU members. As someone on the other side of the world, all I really know to do is to send money to my loved ones and hope they can move soon.
