TikTok is not representative and neither is any other social media platform. There’s always two things to consider: The target group and the algorhithm. Both are far from being representative for humanity. Heck, the algorithm even prefers things that evoke negative emotions, because that way you’re gonna spend more time on their platform and they can sell more ads.

I have only seen tik tok videos on the news so I don’t really have a good idea of what the community is like.
