What’s funny is today, the French fucking love coke. Lived in Paris and it was super common to see people order just a coke and sit outside, chatting/smoking with a friend. Found it kinda ironic because I had cut out sodas as they’re too sweet for my American taste haha.

Do they use the same recipe in France as they do in the states? I know they make a lot of regional variants, but not how or where they draw those lines.

They almost certainly sub regular sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

Corn syrup is pretty much only a thing in the US because corn is heavily subsidized for farmers in Iowa, and cheap foreign sugar is tariffed to protect sugar farmers in Louisiana.

Yeah coke always had sugar wherever I went in Europe, it’s Pepsi that has sweetener.

But nowadays I wouldn’t be surprised if they were selling more coke zero than regular.

It could have been more offensive if you’d have said Frenchman, instead of “French man”. Do better next time.

    1950

Given they were still serving wine in school cafeterias until 1956 (and in highschool until 1981) I’m not surprised this man was not prepared for the taste of Coca-Cola ™ !

Diarrhea? A starving person can’t digest most meals.
