Preferably one where they come to accept being female or where trans in their past life

Posting here as well because I posted in the ml instance manga community and I don’t know how friendly they are to trans related stuff

There are tons of gender-bender/ gender-swap mangas with m->f changes, but most of them that aren’t Isekai tend to involve some other mechanism than dying for the change, like a potion or virus, or just skipping an explanation and they wake up one day and they’re female. There are tons of tons of them, if the ‘dying’ party is not a hard req.

A few I saw that looked interesting:

This one is about a male hero who dies, and is reborn as the daughter of 2 of his former party members.

The trickster god Loki turns a boy into a girl.

Boy begs Santa to reincarnate him as a girl, and gets his wish.

Boy transitions into a girl as she grows up, and reunites with a childhood friend (guy) who she had a crush on as a boy.

Hey, it may not be exactly what you’re looking for, but Ranma 1/2 come to my mind. The humor is from the 90s and it feels. But i enjoyed it even if i didn’t finish it. There is a reboot planned soon, so maybe this version will be more up to date with current societal mindset and humor.

I recommand the uncensored version ;)

Not quite what you’re looking for but Pretty Face is a great “I’m not really trans but I have to be for flimsy excuse” manga.

It’s about a guy who gets in an accident that puts him in a coma for a year and is so badly mangled he needs his whole face rebuilt. The doctor who saves him has no idea what he looked like so he builds him a face based on a photo of his crush that was in his pocket. As it turns out, his crush has a missing twin sister so he decides to impersonate her to keep his crush happy while he searches for her real sister.

While the MC never explicitly identifies as trans in the text, there’s a bunch of supporting subtext for it. He slowly gets more and more used to being seen as a girl and isn’t in the biggest rush to get his old face back even after he finds a photo of himself for the doctor to use as a reference.
