    I feel like these sorts of “call-outs” are becoming way more common nowadays than before, I don’t recall people accusing athletes of being trans until more recently. The only scandals I remember were doping ones. I know transphobia has always been a problem but it just feels like it’s gotten worse…

    This is pretty ridiculous to accuse the Olympics especially. They’re famous for periodically redefining sex in ways that bar previous medalists from competing in future events. It’s not like this athlete didn’t have to jump through the same crazed hoops as every other female athlete.

    Trans athletes have been able to compete in the Olympics since I think 2004 or something and are yet (correct me if I’m wrong though) to win any medal in a sport they compete in. It will only be a problem the moment one of them actually wins something.

    Yes, pure chauvinism. But also something absolute stupid, saying that this is violence against women. Let’s say it was not a woman vs woman match but indeed a woman vs man match, it would still be not violence against women lol. Its called sport.
