Let’s bring waltzing women back to the streets
I keep trying to scroll down to the nonexistent panel where he starts beating the shit out of her… Everett brought his kinder sensibilities with him on this stroll.
Brb, gonna give a transfem euphoria by telling her she’s darting about like a chicken with its head cut off.
Oh,that is just the cherry on the sundae that is Everett True, efficiency expert. Love to see more fan art. The original is addictive.
Alas, our hero shows weakness!
Despite being a protector of women, he still internalizes indirect misogyny via stereotypes.
Could it be that our hero is not as perfectly upright as we thought?!
He’s definitely not perfectly upright. He’s often sexist or racist, those comics just aren’t as much fun to a modern audience, so they don’t get posted as much
Clearly must have been common knowledge back then since they used the phrase in the comic, but I wonder what percent of people these days have seen a chicken darting about with its head cut off.
Informal poll time. Upvote if you have seen a chicken get it’s head cut off and downvote if you haven’t.
I’m 40 and I’ve heard that phrase my entire life.
Vote begging (up or down) is not a good thing, and it makes for useless polls since you can’t tell if people are only voting for the response. You wanna ask opinions/answers, ask for them.
I’ve seen it. I’ve done it. I can’t say the “running” description that’s usually used is accurate. It’s more of a flopping, and even that’s not every time. It isn’t even often in my limited experience.
Grew up partly country. Wasn’t a farm boy, but plenty of my family is, and plenty of my classmates were. So I had plenty of opportunities to deal with the realities of slaughter on both small and medium scales.
I believe asking for comments will result in a smaller sample size because it takes more time to do. Fewer people will be willing to take at least 20 seconds to write a response than the number of people who are willing to take under a second to vote. Also there would be the bias of people who feel stronger about the question of the poll responding.
I’ve seen it many times too. Also seen goat and sheep a few times.
As weird as it seems, I’ve always been grateful for the experience. The knowledge of exactly where food comes from, knowing that it takes a life made me respect what I was eating more, and thus be way less wasteful than I might otherwise be.
It helped that the farmers in my family were always extra careful to make the death as clean and pain free as it gets. It was also always a little strange but comforting to see my uncle that would calmly and cleanly kill a pig for food cry like a baby if one died while giving birth, or to disease.
I have, but they were upside down in a killing cone and feeling relaxed.
