I do find it hilarious that after over a decade of announcements and rumors about Valve’s IPs being made into a movie, the one that actually made it was a gmod youtube poop lol
I always thought a movie/trilogy covering the 7 hours war would be cool, but I feel like they’d just try to adapt the games themselves, which I think would be a waste.
there’s so much potential! pick any random town, maybe even a small one near black mesa. Make it about some random character/family/friends group who just merely survive the invasion, or are surviving year 3 of the aftermath. all made up characters, no need for anything to be canon (but some would help). It would be so easy not to fuck up.
what’s the IP discussion on this like? Is valve involved? Will we get to see the toilet with G-man’s head?

There was some early talks for a show based on Team Fortress 2 to be produced for Adult Swim. That had potential.
I don’t think a Portal or Half-Life movie would have worked very well, especially considering they were looking at JJ Abrams to direct.
