She put a cover on her head and just started praying in Punjabi, wtf
Its definitely not this but it would be very funny if 1) this near death experience made trump see god, but like not christian god, and he’s just sikh now, or 2) he just gets super religious but tries to be inclusive of all religions in it.
- this near death experience made trump see god, but like not christian god, and he’s just sikh now
This would be so fucking funny. Imagining him saying Sikh shit in his cadence and trying to grow a beard
imagine the comically large kirpan he’d carry
“Folks, the colonial British reduced the size of Kirpans. A full sized talwar sword used to be two feet long, folks. What a travesty. The British want our swords to be small and effeminate. I say no longer. We’re going to build a wall around Britain, and they’re going to pay for it. We’re going to have our big swords. Mine is four feet long. My guru loves it.”
Folks, the woke left don’t want you to know that all men are Li-ons, and all women are princesses. I’ll tell you about another Li-on, Rum Tum Tugger from Catsss…
biggest kirpan in the world folks are saying, many are saying it
It would be fantastic. He changes his name to Donald Singh and changes the big Trump on his tower to be Singh.
Him saying Lion but it’s “LYE-ohn”
growing out his hair super long so he can wrap it
The only person in human history to grow 6ft of hair in a weekend
It’d be funny because aren’t the core values of Sikhism like…not him at all?
Trump is on his new age kumbaya tour to synthesize all religions
Another antichrist box checked
he just gets super religious but tries to be inclusive of all religions in it.
isnt this like, what boy scouts do lol
I would love to see how this effects the evangelical vote
Trump has a near-death conversion to Sikhism
where is cum town when you need it
tokenism is effective compared to its price tag
True, it’s still pretty surprising though. A lot of their base have their doubts about Catholics, let alone people who belong to an entirely different religion.
I remember them doing a lot of tokenism back in 2016. Chuds usually say that they have no issues unless you make a big deal about it (meaning they have issues).
They don’t mind other cultures as long as they believe the exact same things
I think Vivek Ramaswamy was very popular with republicans
model minority
not that they won’t still be racist to him
the RNC is done playing Hidin’ Sikh
isn’t Nikki Haley from a Sikh family? probably just token nod to that
Brown non-Muslim token. I don’t know to what extent Sikhs are Islamophobic, but if Islamophobia is rampant among Sikhs, then that would explain everything.
sikhs catch bullets when whitey gets violently Islamophobic, as far as the community goes I’ve only ever heard of solidarity.
Afaik it would be very incompatible. I don’t know much about Sikhism but a quick glance brings the following:
There is only one God, and It is called the truth, It exists in all creation, and It has no fear, It does not hate, and It is timeless, universal and self-existent! You will come to know it through the grace of the Guru.
- Sri Guru Granth Sahib
Sikh’s believe that we should acknowledge one creator, and are against worshiping demi-gods or idols. “God” in Sikhism is regarded as an all-pervading spirit without gender or form, who is approached through dedicated meditation.
Sikhism believes that it is immoral to show distinction or rank because of race, class, or gender. Universality and equality are among the most important pillars of the Sikh faith. This is also known as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarbat_da_bhala
Live by the three primary principles. Be always absorbed in meditation and prayer. Make an honest income by honorable methods. Share earnings and selflessly serve others.
Avoid the Five Sins of Ego. These are Pride. Lust. Greed. Anger. Attachment.
Become Baptized.
Keep the honor code. They are encouraged to forsake worldly worries, to abide by the guru’s teachings and practice daily worship.
Wear the Sikh undergarment for modesty and health. Wear a wooden comb in the turban to keep hair clean and untangled. Wear a steel wristlet as a sign of faith. Wear hair uncut, to honor the creator’s intention. Wear a small sword symbolic of defending the religious rights of all faiths
Follow the Four Commandments. Do not dishonor the creator’s intention by cutting the hair. Do not harm the body with tobacco or other intoxicants. Do not eat sacrificial meat. Do not commit adultery.
Recite the 5 daily prayers. There is a list of specific prayers you must recite each day.
Take part in fellowship. This could be many things, like cooking with someone, praying with someone, working at a temple, serving someone.
Sikhs are expected to embody the qualities of a Sant Sipahi or “saint-soldier”, showing no fear on the battlefield and treating defeated enemies humanely. The Bhagat further defines the qualities of a sant sipahi as one who is “truly brave…who fights for the deprived”
Obviously religious people do deeply unserious things in the name of religion all the time regardless of the actual teachings of the religion, though. The base for Sikhism seems to be very accepting of other religions and is very obviously heavily influenced by Buddhism, Hinduism (particularly Bhakti), and Islam (particularly Sufi Islam). It has a strong undertone of demanding adherents be militant about equity. Bahaism is also very influenced by Sikhism, imo.
Great move, as a community Sikhs are fairly conservative and small business friendly.

You’re putting superstructure before the base. There’s nothing inherent in the Sikh religion about that… community is tho…
I knew I was screwing something up.

This comment just shows the basics of Sikhism, and more or less, like Christianity, is, by its word, a potential religion gateway to socialism… (however utopian it is)

Indians who aren’t Muslims are an increasingly large and reliably republican voting demographic. That’s my guess.
not muslim
Indian Americans are a major GOP voting bloc
Cw mass shooting: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wisconsin_Sikh_temple_shooting
Pretty fucked up given the regional context, no?
Wonder how the audience received it?
What is going on?
