Fucking hell I need to get better security on all of my stuff.

I realised that the drongo also nicked an Xbox I had in my spare room. I haven’t played it in some time, but apparently at some stage it’s become disconnected from my Microsoft account so I can’t report it stolen or get the serial number. My MacBook I’d just reset like a month ago and forgot to turn on find my device. And I got an email from Amazon that somebody was trying to reset my password. I rejected the request but realised I forgot to sign out of prime on a hotel tv, so I reset my password. Which deregistered my echo dot from my Amazon account, so I can’t get the serial number.

I thought I was good at keeping my devices secure and locked down. Evidently I am not anywhere near as good as I thought. I guess I’ve felt too safe for too long to keep up with maintenance and security. I suppose it’s a learning opportunity but I just feel like an idiot. Ugh

All this stuff doesn’t fall under the normal category, you were a victim of crime, which sucks but is not your fault.

But I could probably make it a lot more difficult to shift all the stuff he’s stolen if I caught it quickly and reported everything as stolen. Also if I had find my mac on

      it happens

I change computers and lose passwords to email accounts, then what ever is attached to that email is basically fucked

at least i don’t have anything on my phone and I use bluetooth as little as possible and never ever use public wifi

echo and that stuff, not in a million years

even so, I do have various shopping accounts

My phone is probably the safest thing I own honestly. Strong password I change often, and googles rolled out their find my iphone knockoff that uses all the bluetooth and wifi stuff to ping its location back to base if GPS isn’t working. Apparently it doesn’t work very well yet, but I have faith it’ll improve. Or google will get a new toy and scrap it. really 50/50 odds tbh

there is not much on my phone , no bank, no gov, no myki, few apps, no location tracking, i keep wifi and bluetooth off when out

but I’m sure if someone was determined they could hack easily

          I do have phone numbers
