Everything is bad for you, if you consume a lot of it. Soda, as in carbonated drinks, isn’t inherently bad, it just has high sugar content. Which you still need to function, it’s energy, but in moderation. Nothing bad will happen if you occasionally drink a can of soda, just don’t substitute water with it. Which mostly a real problem only in NA. And if you live in NA, then also try to avoid overconsumption of all non-carbonated drinks, too. Cause juices and iced teas all have very comparable sugar content.

It is a problem because it is very high in sugar. Also the carbonation is bad for your bones.

A little sugar isn’t bad but we are talking something that is pure sugar in a form that can be consumed easily. This makes soda bad as you can easily exceed health limits.

You mostly just repeated what I said. And it’s not “pure” sugar, it’s about 10-15% sugar. Which applies to almost all commercial drinks, like juices, teas and coffees. You can’t single out sodas here, rest are just as bad. Just watch your sugar intake and you can drink sweet beverages fine.

I didn’t know that CO² is bad for bones. I’ll have to look that up.
