cause teslas are barely put together from the factory?
You’re paying for the ✨experience✨
If I want the experience of a vehicle falling apart I can buy a beater for $500
Because they make lifestyle products, not good EVs.
Elon said investor are mistaken. It’s not an ev company. Tesla is an AI company.
No way it can be an AI company, clearly, because if it was an AI company that would mean Musk is intentionally diverting necessary resources and talent from Tesla’s core business to build xAI. Shareholders would hate that!
Shareholders would hate that!
Shareholders hated that so much they just voted to give Elon Musk $50 Billion in shares.
Yuuuup. Please mr Elon here’s another gazillion dollar bonus, and of course, take some nvidia chips with you as you go. Wouldn’t want ya getting unmotivated.
Yep, as long as they keep enabling him the quality of products will get worse until it all comes crashing down. Maybe it can still be salvaged after, but I don’t see it going well.
Don’t you love the idea of Tesla using the car you own to do cloud computing without paying you?
Wait is he really doing that?
Elon said something to that effect. But its all bullshit like everything else Elon says.
Still, its crazy that Elon said that, and that none of his supporters caught how dumb of an idea it was.
Jeeps and 4runners are life style products. A tesla is about as much life style as an Apple laptop.
So… 100%?
I would never buy a Tesla while they have such an erratic, irresponsible CEO.
At this rate, you might not buy a Tesla ever since the board seems just as erratic and irresponsible giving him such a large bonus. Maybe 5 years before we get the YouTube analysis videos of how it was all a Ponzi scheme.
Turns out when you come out of the closet as a complete and total right wing asshat, the people that would have bought your shit will give it a hard pass. Then, the people that like your asshatness, don’t like your product and shit on it every chance they get. He found out.
No no. I mean yes. But no. You’ve commented on the wrong story.
https://www.axios.com/2024/06/19/elon-musk-advertising-cannes
That’s certainly happening more directly in this walkback / apology tour where Elon is asking for advertising money now on Twitter.
I think the comment is fully applicable to both articles. Which is just funny. Imagine not understanding your businesses enough that you alienate your target market in 2 very different industries for the same reason, being a miserable right wing nutjob.
My next car will be an EV, cannot even consider tesla.
Ioniq 5 is too good anyway.
I’m more of a PHEV guy. So Prius Prime for me.
Outside of Musk being a trashcan human, the one time I was in a Tesla I was astounded at the low quality of the car.
same - been looking at the vw e-van thing… would prefer to buy domestic but I’ll be fucked with a 2x4 sideways before I give musk a penny. fool self drive lol
Maybe because they have an unstable CEO that they want to pay 56 BILLION dollars in stock (else he’ll not be incentivized to run the company)
yeah, another thing that concerns me as a potential customer: if the company is deranged enough to pay that nutcase like that, after he took tesla stock to buy twitter and ran it into the ground? lol nah, get fucked
Oh you sweet summer child…
“Tesla’s history of poor quality control and unpredictable feature removal may finally be catching up with it.”
And you don’t think there’s ANY OTHER PROMINENT REASON that people wouldn’t be buying teslas as readily, huh?
What is a good used EV brand that has all wheel drive and good range? I plan on getting a good used EV in the next 5 years or so, and I saw that tesla 3’s with AWD and long-range batteries are like 21k after a tax credit. So if anyone knows of a good brand and model that is around that price, please let me know. I would rather not get a tesla, but the only other car I saw was the Nissan LEAF, and it has a range of like 150 miles so in the winter I’ll be looking at 75 mile range with that car.
I wish I could get a normalnass car but with an electric engine in it. I don’t need an infotainment screen or any of that stuff, but sadly, they don’t make those.
I plan on getting a good used EV in the next 5 years or so
Ask again in five years. I don’t think this is very predictable because the industry is so volatile right now. Case in point, you talk about the low price for a used model 3, but two years ago they had the best resale value if any manufacturer. On a bit longer timescale, Nissan Leaf was the first affordable, practical EV but a decade later its range is unacceptable and its batteries don’t last well enough
Dam, good points. I was looking at a leaf but ya 100k miles and the battery is done is kinda bullshit and not worth more than 5k new imo.
And Fisker
Bummer.
Sounds good
