Highlight of the week for me is Mashle ending. The series is not entirely original; it is essentially the same concept and genre as “Muscles Are Better Than Magic!” and “Mx0”. What set Mashle apart is the ridiculousness, but there is a limit to how far you can push that.
I’m very glad it ended when it was still interesting.
I’ve been finally reading through Tokyo Ghoul. I’ve watched the first two seasons of the anime but I have never read the manga. I’m also reading it in Japanese, so progress is very slow. I’m still enjoying it though!
Staying caught up with Nick & Lever, that one is nuts in the best possible way.
Read through The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy at All. I’d caught bits and pieces of it on the sub in the past but finally caught up with it. Cute, fun, great style.
Berserk Vol. 1: seems interesting, very fast pacing, little exposition
Choujin X Vol. 3: this manga keeps getting better
The Summer Hikaru died Vol. 1: probably dropping this one, the art was its highlight but I’m not that much of a fan of BL
I really am enjoying Gal Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?. I know it’s the typical galxotaku genre, but the execution is really well done!
I normally only read Japanese releases. I started Sukeban Deka volume 2 last week. It’s a 70’s shojo manga, although it has a surprising amount of action and violence for something aimed at girls. One of its spin offs was released recently, so the original series got a reprint.
Death is the Only Ending For the Villainess updated on my mirror so I binged that. Was sweet.
Rereading Rosen Garten Saga right now and its better than I remember. Honestly this and Oshi No Ko are the two series I really get excited for right now.
I’ve only been reading Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible. I’m on chapter 98 and though it’s felt a bit slow in terms of progress, I still enjoy it and I plan to read it until the end. It’s a relaxing story that I could recommend to anyone who likes a bit of wholesome romance.

This was such an unexpectedly interesting romcom, the distinctive element is the tomboy cool heroines. Quick synopsis. The protagonist is a cute guy son of a well renowned actress perfect at everything, problem being he is average at everything, be it acting, studying or sports. Upon his mother’s death, he is entrusted to a friend of hers and is transferred to a really prestigious school. Now he has to live with the three daughters of the guy, whom are all overachieving perfect cool and beautiful tomboys, each being perfect at their own discipline (acting, studying and sports). Of course they dont really want to have anything to do with him, all of them wanting to focus on their own things but the protagonist really wants to have a good family life like he always saw on tv.
This manga is really wholesome, I like how it is able to make the heroines really cool without substracting any of the beauty, I also like the dynamic between the oblivious protagonist who has failed at everything and the daughters who all feel the pressure that comes with their positions, the work is really wholesome and I love how the sisters start interacting with one another after the protagonist irrupts in their lives.

This is awesome, I have chuckled multiple times. As a quick synopsis, a hero defeated the demon king so now the demons hold a fighting tournament to decide the next king, problem being the hero joins and he is actually the favourite to win! He is beloved by the public and has the physique of a greek god on steroids. For obvious reasons, Vamirio, one of the tournament organizers, doesnt trust him. She has to make him loose without making it too obvious.
It is a gag manga, it really nails that ridiculousness where everyone plays along aside Vamirio who acts as the straight man. I was surprised with how well it developed a story and it has managed its serious moments really well. Right now it has gotten more action focus but I hope it goes back to the hard focus on comedy like it had in the first arc which was my favourite.
