I made a folder with my fav lemmy apps that I tried so far, and they are sorted by favorite to less favorite. By far, wefwef is my most used and I do switch to lifoff sometimes. Also, the official lemmy app is really not bad compared to reddit’s official app. I would say try all of them and see which one works the best for you. waiting for sync and boost to launch. let me know if you have any other suggestions I haven’t tried yet.
There is no official lemmy app?
Since Lemmy is not a single entity but a group of people hosting the servers, there is not official app.
Your question is similar to “There is no official email app?”.
There are hosts like Outlook and Gmail. Similarly, Lemmy.ml and Lemmy.world would be the equivalent. While outlook and Gmail have their own apps, individual instances rely on third party apps like Jerboa, Liftoff, etc. for mobile users.
Brah i get how it works. I was thrown off by the post calling one of those apps the offical app. Make your speech to op not me.
Jeroba is developed by the Lemmy devs, but I don’t think they consider it “official”
Correct which is why i was confused by op referring to an “offical” lemmy app
No, and it’s unlikely there ever will be. Jerboa is the closest thing as it’s a project by one of the main Lemmy devs.
Jerboa is the Official one because it is developed by lemmy developer…
This doesn’t make it the official app and the developer of it says as much.
Jerboa is made by the Devs.
That doesn’t make it the official app.
That would be Jerboa.
The way we should look at this is that the only thing Lemmy offical is their github page, anything else can and most likely will be done by 3rd parties.
Sure there’s the website. Wefwef, the first app in this list is also just a PWA, which is pretty much just a website.
