Long time Apple user, day 1 Apollo user here.

Initially, it just “looked pretty”. But very quickly, it became clear that Christian put a lot of thoughts into how Apple would have presented the user interface, and made it very damn close if not spot on. The design language feels just right, the interaction feels intuitive; everything is made to feel as if it was something Apple themselves would’ve made for long time Apple users. Navigation and swipe gestures just made sense, thread lists can be compact or wide (and each to their own, both looks great), comments indentation feels way more clear, everything just clicks together nicely.

You can try wefwef.app, which copied a lot of the look and feel, as well as incorporated some of the features… it is amazing of a webapp for phones, but it’s still got ways to go before it can fully fill the void left behind by Apollo.
