My mentor has drilled this in to me: a comfort zone is a wonderful place but nothing ever grows there

I find it suiting, since she is a revegetation specialist

That is awesome! It takes a lot of smarts, on top of hard work and dedication, to do that. Mad props!

I come from social sciences. Really fun and all but I realised it was not my calling like ten years after.

I just finished my masters, and I had a 10-page paper due in lieu of a thesis. On top of that, I had a 25-minute video where I summarized an academic paper. I’ve already forgotten everything about both lol.

I hate the writing - had to re-read some parts 2-3 times because of shitty "hand"writing and a stupid unneeded “bc” in the middle which could have been a “be”

It does mean “because”, but since it’s the only abbreviation in the whole text, coming out of nowhere, it definitely made reading harder because you try to figure out what that “two-letter-thing” is supposed to mean.

I had trouble to read it too. I didn’t realise until I read your comment, now I’m wondering wether I like it or not. Thinking about it, it actually illustrate the comics very well: it’s harder to read because it’s not what I’m used too, but it also forces me to read other kind of writings which I guess is good because not everything should be normalised too much.

I don’t have a problem with different writings - but in comics, they should be legible - after all I am trying to follow a narrative, not earn a degree in cryptography :)

At least she’s got some kind of emotion to communicate. These are the only emotions I’ve got:

    • It’s a trap

    • Cigarette time

    • Mad

    • Dance time

    • Shoot zombies

    • Horny

    • Lol

    • Done with shit

Yup. This is me. Down to the very last ‘H’ in AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…

It’s unnerving and uncomfortable, and I don’t like it. Remind me why we do this to ourselves?

A major part of media, especially those with social commentary, is hyperbolizing emotion and reactions. Both to make it easier to identify and relate to it, and also to better critique them.
