I’m starting too see more and more mainstream manufacturers use new Mediatek SOCs in their phones, I always heard about them being inefficient, did those got better nowadays?
I don’t know if they came up with a new design but they are basically budget option and they are basically cheaper than Qualcomm budget option SOCs (700, 600 series) while delivering same or similar performance/battery life. This and the chip shortages is why they are getting adopted more and more by the mainstream manufacturers these days.
