Whatever the reason, it’s doubtless a very fresh, openminded space, filled with interesting and interested people.
Why the need for an explanation? If it was for this or that particular reason, any community characterized by those traits would provide an similar feel.
My take is that nothing you can come up with as an explanation will capture what makes this works. Perhaps being among adults helps, but a lot of adults fail at building strong and worthwhile communities. Perhaps this or that helps, but also this or that also fail at being sufficient to make this or that work.
So my short take is this: it’s great while it lasts.
I just happened to be lucky for being here at this particular moment in time – whatever the reason.
