A couple lib conclusions, but a good exploration of yet another instance of enshitification of the internet monopolies. Also it mentions adNauseam and I like to remind people that Google banned adNauseam directly in Chromium.
What’s that? I can’t hear you over the awesome sound of multiple Pi-Holes and uBlock Origin.
I have a single Pi-hole, what’s the reason to have multiple?
Redundancy. I have a lot of devices pinging my Pi-Hole for DNS. To ensure all requests are served, I have three in sequence. This way, if for whatever reason, one fails, or just gets backed up and can’t accept new requests, the network tries to contact the next Pi-Hole in sequence instead.
This video introduced me to adNauseam as well. I also had no idea the FBI recommends use of an ad blocker.
Oh, I’ve been using it for years already, just very miffed at Google banning it and doing their darnest to ruin adblockers in Manifest v3. Except for their pet ones that allow google ads, of course. Thankfully Firefox is still the least terrible modern browser and even has it as “Recommended”.
