Jo Miran, seems pretty on the nose with what the USA was wanting at the start of the SMO.

Now, the USA just wants it to stop.

Oh I know this! It’s to have a little Nazi vassal state as a proxy against Russia alongside the typical MIC bullshit.

The problem being that economic damage to the west has been far worse than to Russia over the past two years.

That’s not true either though, just look at Africa and West Asia as prime examples of Russia expanding influence while US is being pushed out. Meanwhile, not sure how Finland and Sweden joining NATO changes anything from Russian perspective. If there ever was a war between Russia and NATO, then it’s pretty obvious which side Finland and Sweden would be on.

However, the economic damage is the most important aspect of the conflict. Western economy dominated the world, and now a whole separate economy is emerging around BRICS which is already a bigger economic bloc than the G7. This directly shrinks the size of western economy, and that’s already resulted in a recession in Europe, and soon will lead to one in US as well. Lacking a functional economy and industrial capacity the west will continue losing its influence globally.

This war will be taught in history books as the turning point where western global hegemony collapsed.

I’m not the one asking the question, it’s posed by the article. You can give your opinion on it, and I can give you mine. The fact that you’re upset that I’m stating basic facts of the situation is frankly weird. The desire very well might have been the one you stated, and I’m simply noting that the reality does not match the stated desire.
