Two Ukrainian servicemen were stabbed to death at a shopping center in southern Germany Saturday evening, by a suspected Russian national, German and Ukrainian authorities say.
German police say a 36-year-old man died on the scene in the city of Murnau, and a 23-year-old man died later that evening at a nearby hospital.
Both Ukrainian men were residents of the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and had been in Germany undergoing medical rehabilitation.
A 57-year-old suspected Russian national was arrested at his home not far from the scene, according to German authorities.
A criminal investigation is underway for the suspected double murder.
This has certain symbolism that the war is already or shortly will be among nato if we won’t take it more seriously.
But this kind of shit has been happening for quite some time. Spain, Italy, UK…either Russians against the war or Ukrainian people…
Totally. Poisonings in the UK. Assassinations in Berlin. Falls from windows. It’s business as usual.
That was a hit
Not necessarily (though of course possible). In germany we have lots of people of russian descent. While amongst the younger generation some (not all by a long shot) may be more west oriented, the older ones are usually only consuming russian national media and dont like to engage with german media at all. Thus some people can be influenced to be aggressive towards ukraine. I have seen ukrainian flags ripped off and a glas display for ukrainian refugee support being shattered around the area where the russian descendants of our city live. While in my case that isnt much, It certainly shows aggression. But i also have to say that most are peaceful. It does however exist in a minority.
Well, ripping down a flag is not peaceful. It’s certainly not violence.
At the same time, I would be tempted to tear down a Trump flag or possibly even a Russian flag if they were in my vicinity.
I frequently rip down and throw out Trump signs. I don’t consider it a crime to remove symbols of hate from my community.
You’re a blessing to your community.
This is the best summary I could come up with:

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry issued a statement with similar information.
“On April 27, two Ukrainian citizens, men born in 1987 and 2001, were killed by stabbing in Murnau am Stafelsee, Bavaria, Germany, at a local shopping center.
“According to preliminary information, the deceased citizens were military personnel undergoing medical rehabilitation in Germany,” the ministry said.

A good example of why Russian immigrants need to be kept out of Europe
Are you seriously trying to suggest that every Russian immigrant in Europe is a potential murderer?
Well they are potential murderers, just like everyone else :D
Technically true, but as I said to catloaf, it’s a common argument used to denigrate groups of people that aren’t white and European. In Europe and America too. And possibly other places where most people originated from Europe.
In fact, there’s a huge amount of bigotry against non-Russians in Russia, so I would not be at all surprised if some Russians are saying the same thing about Europeans in Russia.
Basic ass take but ok.
Tha fuck? Not every Russian immigrant is a hit man.
Some of them have been living here for a long time and have contributed to our society. Assuming all of them to be bad people is just flat out wrong.
I understand the disapproval of what is happening right now. But i too have russian friends who are completely opposed to the war and in some cases try to help ukrainians who have to flee.
