New Portainer CE 2.19.5 release
Portainer
Resolved CVE-2024-29296 by creating uniform response time for login attempts
Years ago when I tried it, it seemed to implement its own version of compose by default, and it didn’t fully understand docker’s implementation. This caused me to stop using it, but even if they fixed this, I think having a web interface for docker just enables folks to avoid learning how it works i.e. it is a click-ops crutch.
I dont like how it locks you in. Makes it a very annoying task if you want to go back to baremetal compose. Personally I’ve been trying to move all my services to podman and while portainer will work with podman it is not a good experience. Also ive found cockpit-podman to be better for managing baremetal rootless containers.

Why do you say it is bad?
