Hello Everyone!

Time for another update on our gaming progress!

I am still playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingom. About 65 hours in. Small non-spoiler update next, those who want to avoid it can move to next paragraph. I am going for the last regional quest, and have found 60+ shrines. As for exploration, have done about 1/4th of Depths and Sky Islands, and activated all Sky towers, though there’s still a lot to find.

I mentioned resuming Animal Crossing, but it didn’t went far. My wife is completely back into it, but I haven’t played it much, whenever I am on Switch I just want to play Zelda.

In non-Nintendo world, just downloaded Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, going to start playing it with my kid. Going to be our first beat 'em up together, if I am not forgetting any.

Other than that, also planning to give Monster Hunter: World another try, this time with a group of friends.

That’s all from me. What are you all up to? What are you playing?

Haha, I had an opposite experience. I thought I am not playing it at all, might be 20-30 hours at most, then checked and was at 50 hours. The game feels immersive so don’t even realize how much time I have put into it.

ToTK, spending a lot of time not doing the main quests.

Finishing up FFVII Remake Intermission before I start FFXVI as the other game I’m juggling in the not-much free time I have had lately.

TotK is just as fun doing the main quest, as it’s not doing the main quest. Though right now I am really excited about the story and want to know more.

Good luck with FF7R-I, are you looking forward to playing the the second part coming next year?

If this anhedonia streak continues, I’ll probably dick around for an hour or two on Guild Wars 2, drop an hour into Vermintide II, maybe load up an emulator and play a couple of SNES games, then ultimately end up listening to a podcast while I play spider solitaire.

Of all these words, I only know enough about SNES and Spider Solitaire to comment on them. 😀 So, what podcasts are you listening these days? Anything interesting to add to my list.

I stay on top of Last Podcast on the Left (except sometimes I’ll skip the UFO episodes and come back to them later… they can get a little silly), and fill in the gaps with Behind the Bastards and Scam Goddess.

Unsighted! I saw it on the hidden gems section of the e-shop yesterday.

I’m waiting until my wife beats BotW before diving into TotK

Just checked out Unsighted, looks pretty good, went to add it to my wishlist and it was already there 😀 I don’t even remember when I added it. How are you enjoying it?

If you are playing BOTW too, I would suggest not jumping in TotK right away, it can cause burn out, but if you weren’t playing that should be fine.

And unsighted is good! It’s simpler but excellent. It’s worth it

Since I finished TotK last week (got 100 hours out of the game), I decided to take a break from it for a while and instead focus on my switch backlog.

I’m about to finish a game called In Other Waters. What I initially thought would be just a chill exploration game became a really immersive narrative experience with turn of events which really caught me off guard. I’m definitely interested in more games from the developer, I heard great things about their subsequent game Citizen Sleeper.

Other than that, I started playing Blaster Master Zero 2. I played the first one last year and really enjoyed my time with it, and the sequel so far seems to be as good as the first one.

Outside of Nintendo ecosystem, I’ll also probably boot up PS5 for a few hours and try to get more trophies out of Unravel 2.

      Congratulations on finishing the game!

You already got me interested in “In Other Waters”, now you are getting me even more excited. Going to move it up on my to-play list.

How are you playing Unravel 2? Single player or co-op?

I’m playing Unravel 2 solo, I could not convince my SO to play with me. It does work surprisingly well as a single player game though.

  • I’ve taken a step back from gaming this week. It was a busy one.

Still, I’m making pretty good progress on totk. Great game.

I got a 4070 for my birthday. So I tore my whole PC apart to dust out every nook and cranny. It replaced an R9 290. Other specs: 24 GB DDR3, i7-4790K running on Z97, 1 TB NVMe SSD and 8 TB HDD (I don’t mind a loading screen)

I previously had 4 3,000 RPM server fans keeping it cool because I was running dual R9 290s in the thing air cooled. When you have two 94° cards, there’s a ton of hot air coming from the thing. It’ll heat a room quite effectively.

I’m down to a single 140mm 700 RPM fan in back and a single 120mm 800-2000 RPM fan in front. It’s gone from being as loud as my vacuum cleaner to near silent. And in testing, my GPU never hits 70°. My 290 ran 85-90 playing Wind Waker with Hypatia’s HD texture pack. My 4070 doesn’t even get to 50° after an hour of play. And my intake fan doesn’t even have to ramp up. It’s so nice having a quiet PC again.

It’s gonna be pushing 100°F outside this weekend so I’ll be staying inside and hiding from the weather. Maybe I’ll mow on Monday morning since it’s supposed to be a lot cooler. Need to replace my busted garbage disposal. But when I’m not doing those things, I’ll probably STILL be playing Tears. I think I’m up to 70 hours.

Wow, I didn’t understood most of what you said, except, you got a better GPU and what was quite a load for previous one, is nothing for this one. And your PC is quieter because of that.

That sounds great. Congratulations on your new gear. Are you planning to play something to test the limits? Something that will make it scream too?

Good luck hiding from the weather and playing more TotK!

Found this hidden gem (for me at least) “Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon” really like this game.

Have been thinking to try out other Bayonetta’s too, even thought they are different style of games.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s a hidden gem, but I haven’t seen many people play it. How are you liking the game.

I am in the opposite boat, I have played the other Bayonetta (thought only the first one) but not the Cereza and the Lost Demon.

I first tried the demo of the game. Didnt expect to like it, but found myself really enjoying the art style and specially story. Havent finished the game yet, sadly I dont have as much time to playing games as I use to.

Happens to all of us, don’t worry about it.

I’ll give the demo a try, once I have gone through Bayonetta 2 and 3. Thanks for the heads up.

Nice! How far along are you? I just started it with a few friends, we are still in the start, just reached Tobi-Kadachi.

The co-op is a mess in this game, you all have to separately go on a mission, then watch cut scenes, then everyone except one needs to abandon quest, and join one person’s quest. Hope Capcom makes it simpler in next versions.

Yeah co-op story mode is annoying as fuck. The whole “wait till the cutscene” thing annoys me. My wife just started playing and doing the story with her is annoying, BUT MH also gives you extra bonuses for helping low level players so it’s actually worth it. They had good ideas and bad ones in there.

Im about a quarter of the way through iceborne main story right now. This game gets pretty addictive.

Ah, well, we are all pretty much at same level, so haven’t noticed any benefit of helping anyone else 😀

Yeah, the game is really fun, but we kind of only have one night in the week, so not sure how long we can play the game like this. It takes a lot of time.

Oh man, this game is a grind. But if you don’t get the expansion it’s not that bad for length, and doing it with friends is certainly easier.

If you decide to get the expansion it’s a lot more of a grind.

Well, we decided to do the main game first, and see if we even like it enough to continue, before deciding on whether we go for expansion or not. Let’s see how long we can keep it going.

That’s not a bad idea. If you get stuck on a monster use the SOS feature. No shame in having a more experienced player help you, it’s basically how you have to play late game.

I’m playing Pikmin 1 HD (I couldn’t really wait for the physical edition as I had previously stated). I’m having a blast so far, played 6 days and got 10 spaceship pieces.

I remember being terrified of the time constraint in the game (30 days to get 30 pieces) when I first played it 20 years ago, but my experience with Pikmin 3 makes the game really much more manageable and enjoyable now. The Switch version, even if it’s a simple HD port with some very minor tweaks, is really enjoyable.

Looking forward to starting Pikmin 2 HD, probably next week.

Love it. It’s basically the same game as Breath of the wild, but the underground and sky island increase the map even more. Then the added building and fusing weapons makes it way more fun to play. I’ve finished the first three temples and am on to the last now.
