I’m failing to see “sweeping misconduct” here. I read the article as well as the transcripts. The parts of the testimony that Republicans seem to be up in arms about are in regards to text messages sent by Hunter claiming he was with his dad and the two of them were (together, physically) wondering why Hunter’s business partner was basically not delivering whatever was promised (or was late or similar).

There’s only one problem with that: The WhatsApp message was sent on July 30th, 2017. Joe Biden wasn’t with Hunter on that day, LOL. So Hunter was basically just making shit up, trying to use his father’s name to further advance a business deal. We already know about how he’s done that on numerous occasions. Add it to his pile of shams and scams.

I guess my point is that yeah, Hunter Biden is a bit of a scammer and a tax cheat but that seems to have nothing to do with is dad (who was the VP at the time, not President). The guy that was in charge of investigating Hunter Biden was appointed by Trump and he’s the one that ultimately signed off on the plea deal and handled the investigation. So if you want to blame anyone for making a sweetheart plea deal with Hunter Biden blame that guy (Weiss) or the guy that appointed him, Donald Trump.

Also, pleading guilty to misdemeanors for a first-time tax cheat offense is completely normal and not out of the ordinary for IRS tax crime investigations. The fact that the amount of money owed doesn’t seem to matter in these cases pisses me off though (IMHO, if you’re rich you shouldn’t be afforded such graces since clearly you could’ve afforded to pay some very good tax attorneys/accountants!).
