YMDK Air40 with DSA keycaps.
I’m trying to not use mouse, but the keyboard instead. So mouse movement, scroll and clicks are mapped in keys in a convenient layer.
It took me like a week to get used to ortholinear arrangement. But I’ve never type really fast in my life anyways.
I’m definitely not faster, but my writs stay more relaxed and are almost always still.
@vsis looks dope
ZDA 🤌
Looks great! How do you handle special characters and numbers? Layer changing all the way or not needed in your day-to-day operations?
Numbers and symbols are in layers reachable by the keys next to spacebar. Where my thumbs sit. Other keys of the first row had other layers for key I use less. It has 7 layers in total. So yeah, layer changing all the way around.
Looks great, where are the key caps from?
Aliexpress. I buy every keyboard stuff from there.
Very nice! I have a JJ40 and a Drop v6 Planck that I use. I ended up wanting to learn to touch type as well, and ended up just switching to the Colemak layout in the process to break the bad typing habits that I developed with QWERTY.
Looks good! Always nice to see a fellow 40% enjoyer. Extra props for the effort to use the mouse functions- have you also tried to use vim with it? (I want to sit down and learn that sometime)
I use vim and tmux. I’ve trying to not use the mouse since long ago. Now I have a moderate success. Most of the time I don’t, except for photography edition, where this keyboard is a nightmare lol
