Nice! Ship trespassing mechanics are in.
They removed the ability to get a “Channel joined notification” if an uninvited person trespasses on your ship.
The ship owner (and any party members) will be able to legally engage/kill the trespasser.
If you remove someone from your party while they’re on the ship, they won’t be considered as trespassing unless they injure anyone else on the ship (or leave and come back).
This will be real nice. I wonder if they can do the same with armistice zones so you don’t have to travel to deal with unwelcome guests.
The armistice zone would probably be the crux that could hinder this implementation. If you can’t kill a trespasser that gained somehow access to your pilot seat then the entire Trespass System is unuseful.
They might just not worry about it at all. They’ve said in the past that armistice zones are temporary until they get AI and security stuff in order.
I did like in particular how they really focused on all the edge cases that are going to arise from pocket carriers and larger ships, with nested doll situations.
Same, I’m sure we’ll find additional edge cases but it looks like they’re working hard to account for many of those.
Not having the spam of “<Player> has joined channel” “<Player> has left channel” notifications during org events is going to be really nice.
Interesting. I like the sound of the “paint stripping” mission. It would be cool if they added a requirement where you had to physically go inside the ship and wipe its data as well to make sure it’s untraceable.
Although I guess you could argue that stripping the ship down with salvaging could be enough if that rips out enough wires/electronics with it.
