Hi there guys, thank you for making Lemmy. A great software, with a potential to have a nice-looking non-web based desktop client! I have created a community on there and I have some questions.
- Reddit had a concept of flairs, which were essentially tags you could have put on a post which then allowed for easy search and filter. Does Lemmy have such a feature?
- Does it matter on which Lemmy instance I make my communities, except of courset he cases where a given community wouldn’t be allowed on a given instance?
- If, for example Kbin offers me better moderation tools for my communities will I bea ble to migrate them?
- If yes, will Lemmy users be able to access and use them normally?
- Is advertising of your communities allowed on there? If no, are there any community directories where I oculd post my group?

- No. It’s been a requested feature for years but as of now it’s not a thing. Hopefully the devs will add it soon enough, with the huge influx of Reddit refugees coming. My team and I are working on an implementation for our modded instance, but I’d prefer this to be handled by someone who knows what they’re doing.
- You can only create communities in instances where you have an account. To create communities in multiple instances you’d need multiple accounts.
- You’d have to recreate a community over there and start from scratch. No way to port it. I don’t know much about this, though. I have yet to explore kbin (I’ve been on this site for only a week now)
- I believe so but again, not sure. Supposedly, from Lemmy you can federate with Kbin.
- On there? Idk. But I know !newcommunities@lemmy.world is a thing.
