    “Why don’t we put A WEAPON IN EVERY CLASSROOM and make the teachers responsible for preventing them!”

    “Perfect! Nothing could go wrong with this plan!”

    The thought process fucking baffles me…

      It’s only baffling if you assume they mean what they’re saying.

      They oppose it because it’s less profitable. Gun laws that did a better job of keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and terrorists would cause a drop in sales for one of Republicans biggest donors. Although number of sales actually blocked would be tiny, the process of determining if someone is an idiot, criminal or extremist would result in millions of people simply not bothering.

      They support arming teachers because it’s more profitable. There’s 4 million teachers in the USA and requiring every one of them to have a handgun would be a huge windfall for the gun lobby.

      By asking “is it profitable”, you’re able to know exactly what pro-gun groups will support or oppose because it always lines up with that question.
