To be fair, with enough of the endless Vein Optimization research, resources are functionally endless. You reach a point where you would probably spend months in game to deplete one node.

You can also just set resources to endless.

I get what you mean though, because Satisfactory is more about optimizing your utilizing of each static node. They can balance around everyone having the same resources because of the static map.
