I hope you get to play it if you didn’t. If you have VR, their VR title ties into the world in an extremely special way: (spoiler) the protagonist becomes the final boss in Revenant. You get to make a decision affecting your world and even your world will have bosses you may otherwise not have depending on how it generated and some you may never see if you don’t replay or opt to help someone. It’s a really great punishing gun fun game with a really cool world. It has some roughness with the character creation but you can simply cover yourself in armor and forget of it. I hope you get to love it even half as much as I did. :)
Hopefully no foul-tempered blacksmiths this time that unnecessarily treats you like trash throughout the game and you’re forced to just listen to their gaggles everytime you want your stuff upgraded.
Although Revenant’s a cool game, it’s unlikely I’ll be playing the sequel; as I left off the first game after playing for a while (10-20 hours). While I didn’t struggle too much, it’s still a soulslike; and I’m kinda done with difficult games; and neither will I understand how others enjoy it without wanting to just shelve it, so, yeah. Hope you enjoy it though.
I wanted to cease existing on the butterfly like boss in the caves. It was way too hard. But the dopamine you get after pulling through is simply amazing! And having to team up with random people and entrusting the success in your cooperation and sum of skill is also a very nice exercise at working with people you don’t choose.
i kinda like playing games on my own pace without having to rely on co-oping/other people to “make it easier for me”, and i don’t really care much of struggling through to beat hard bosses and don’t really feel anything if i “finally beat one”, likely because there are many more ahead and it feels like i could’ve done something “more useful” with my time.
anyway, those are just my two cents on the matter. glad you’re enjoying it.
Revenant is a really cool game. It really did scratch my “Darks souls but with guns” itch. I’m thinking of buying it on the switch to replay it too.
You can just wait for the 2nd one and have the itch scratched even harder with the new content. :3
Admittedly, I gave up on replaying when I deleted my character with whom I completed everything. I love the game but I played through it and replayed it in a way by helping random people and just couldn’t go everything again. :c
