Compared to week 1, reset was a lot smoother. There was still some fuckery with the borderlands opening when they shouldn’t. Queue times were reasonable. That could be simply an issue of less people trying to play. We had very minimal lag as well.
Saturday night was typical with the lag as well.
I’m on Skrittsburgh and apparently the red team guys are from Mag lol
It’s completely terrible. Week 1 was the same.
I decided to go into this beta without a big alliance group to see how it will be as a pug, and I’ve only played a total of about 5 hours these last few weeks as it’s just awful.
I’ve seen a whole bunch of commanders speaking all different languages, running god knows what builds, all with their own discord to join… our enemies conversely are organised omega alliances with 60+ on meta classes in an organised discord…
not fun as pug and probably not fun for the enemy.
Thinking forward to go live, the life of a new player and general pugs is going to suck super hard, and without new players and pugs we’re doomed
Thank you for sharing your perspective. I feel we had the opposite experience but I’m in a really cool fight guild. I never run without them.
Are you EU or NA?EU.
When it goes live I’ll be fine as I have about 3 large alliances I could join plus in an active open field fight guild.
But that is why I wanted to try this beta as a pug, to get a different perspective, and it’s badI figured as much. I’m NA and we don’t really have an issue with language barriers. Some spanish/portuguese speakers but they stick to english in the chat in my experience.
We’ll have to get Alliances to see the actual changes on our side. All the top players will try to gather into a single alliance.
The system will have to deal with that. For now, all I can say is that there were no more weird bugs like ending up in another match or world.
More cunts griefing PvE’ers trying to do their daily, that’s honestly all the change I noticed. Odd.
Griefing? You can’t really call it griefing if you go into a PvP game mode to do your dailies, you should be aware that you get killed doing your dailies. If you don’t like it don’t do the WvW dailies and I’m saying that as a main PvE player.
Regardless, it’s extremely pathetic when people go after folks waiting for the daily veteran.
It’s rare (because most people have better sense) but I actually welcome those griefers when I’m on my roaming build just trying to get the quick daily and they’re thinking they’re going to get an easy kill.
Do dailies on red BL if you hate running into people. Or just learn how to fight. I chose the latter as a PvE player and it’s been a lot more fun.
I recommend you look at a couple roaming builds for WvW. Exotic gear will do you just fine to get away from random players going after you. For example, my main WvW spec as Necro is Power Boon Rip Scourge with mainly marauder/berserker gear (depending on how much of a glass cannon I want to be), but if I’m roaming or trying to catch up with my squad from clear across the map, I run Celestial Harbinger since that spec has great sustain and plenty of escape abilities. #GuildWars2 #WvW #Roaming
Reaper’s Corridor is holding our own a little better than the previous week but matchups are still lopsided with massive guild stacking on BBL with a lot of Mag players (red has been great to play against, blue just has some major inconsistencies between us melting them and then they being super tanky with boon rips no longer working). Our future alliance guild has said they have 50+ queues on all battlegrounds in their matchup.
Lag and bugs are still out the wazoo. Reset was a little better but they chose a lock icon on the WvW menu instead of just going from greyed out to open. I was lucky to get in by hitting travel from Lion’s Arch on the lock appearance but not so much for the rest of my guild squad.
Titan’s Staircase doesn’t seem to have enough people? Yesterday, we were outnumbered on EB at several points during the afternoon & early evening in NA timezones.
I’ve seen that in some of the previous betas too. It’s not an encouraging sign.
There were plenty of good fights though!
So far it has been a great argument against the restructuring. I think we are on Grenth’s Door (originally a Piken Square guild) and the teamchat has become extremely toxic and full of spam (guild ads, people discovering that they can send item links, “help hills”), to the point where some in the guild have completely muted it. Oh, and obviously: Some guildmates have been placed in a different team despite selecting the guild.
Now for a bit more meta-commentary: I think the alliances kind of defeat the purpose of WvW, where you could just get an interesting battle every week, into a GvG. We already have EotM for these. Unfortunately this has made the matches completely predictable as soon as the more experienced members got an overview of what guilds we are fighting. We know when they are online and their overall tactics. That’s just boring.
