Just putting it out there if anyone wants to help me out. I don’t have any healthy support structures or people really in my corner that can keep me held to my word. It’d be great if it’s someone else who managed to quit and stay quit.

    I’ve said it before elsewhere, go cold turkey. It gets the worst of the pain over with in under a week and the pain itself in a month.

    I tried to go cold turkey multiple times and it got easier every time. It’s like hiking a path and having to stop because you got too tired. You know where the fatigue sets in and can plan accordingly.

    3 days of hell are worth it. And tbh the first day isn’t that bad if you time your last dose right before bed on a day you can sleep in.

    If the nicotine isn’t the main thing, smokes have more than that in there, you might be better served switching to an alternative product for a week or so and then going cold in order to stagger the withdrawals.

    I believe you got this, whichever route you take to being smoke free.

  • 16 years quit now. I had some Iraqi Marlboros that made me really sick and haven’t touched them since. That’s why those drugs that make it make you sick work so well. But also rearrange your life to make it not available or an option. Replace the behavior with something constructive that also gives you a good physical sensation.

    Also, think on the fact that you’re being played like a stooge by capitalist hogs. Let your anger and resentment fuel your commitment.

    You’ve got this yo! I’m 6 months clean from smoking and 8 years clean from alcohol. I recommend exercise. You’ll quickly realize how fucked your lungs are from smoking and you’ll be able to see how they improve as you stay clean. I could barely get through 15m of exercise before running out of breath, and now I’m like a completely different person. My deep breathing has increased sooo much too. I can take legit like 10-15 second breaths at a time, compared to like 2-3 before I quit.

    Good luck and remember you can get nicotine without smoking if you have a hard time with the withdrawals.
