Reminds me of my favorite comic
Sometimes it feels like this but often I’ll just put on a face and pretend to be listening but really I’m still halfway focusing on the problem I’m solving. I rarely really hear what people say to me when I’m like that. Just nod and smile ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I do this, but when I hear that upward inflection I have to scramble. What where they saying? Better say something generic like “mmmyeah”.
I don’t always need someone to interrupt me for this to happen.
Great, now I have to restart the entire process. Make sure to interrupt me again ten minutes later when I’m finally back in the zone.
This is why I’ve learned to write at least some of the solution I’m considering while I’m thinking about it to make it easier to recall if I lose track, but I do revert to keeping it in my head when I get too lazy to type.
