Artificial intelligence will bring great benefits to all of humanity. But do we really want to entrust this revolutionary technology solely to a small group of US tech companies?

No, but they’ll do all they can to keep the good shit to themselves.
Yeah it’s less a question of what we want to do, and more a question of how we can stop them.
Imo this is a small piece of a much bigger problem that needs to be brought to its logical conclusion asap.
And they will succeed until governments wake up and define some decent regulations.
Government is bought and paid for. I won’t be holding my breath.
There are open source alternatives that are comparable. OpenAssistant has an LLM with their own web chat implementation which is very accurate with prompts and their model source code is fully available. In fact, huggingface has implemented their model and has their own chatbot that is IMHO better than theirs.
