You might unable to write on one website but you can always write on blockchain or another blog. Is censorship really a thing online.

    The idea of censorship is millenniums old. If you think it can only happen online, then you have been spared the worst of humanity.

    🤔 Looking at it from the other direction, I feel like while there’s not much stopping someone from publishing something (somewhere) on the internet, it’s more likely for access to that source to be blocked for other people.

    For example, I can publish anything on <websiteX> but if <websiteX> is blocked from being accessed by your locale, then it’s still censored.

    EDIT : I just realized this was /c/ShowerThoughts 🤣

    Censorship isn’t as much about not letting you speak, but about not letting others hear you.

    If you are not allowed to vent your opinion in a (real world) public marketplace with 1000 people listening to you, but you go to a forest, where only birds listen to you and you shout the same opinion, are you censored or not?
