🤝 Border guards received 50 Volkswagen Transporter minibuses from MK Foundation

Soon, border units will use them to perform front-line combat tasks and to protect the border.

The State Border Service has received cars from the MK Foundation on several occasions. The fund handed over 160 cars and ambulances to the border guards.

We thank the benefactors for their help.

Yeah, I can see using them along the Belarusian border or NATO border something, but I don’t think that one is going to want to have them near artillery fire if avoidable.

EDIT: Given the reference to ambulances, maybe they’re using them to evacuate wounded soldiers.

That sucks, but maybe it’s more a matter of things sucking with light armor, too. There are drones flying around that can clobber light armor: here’s a Russian BMP-2 being taken out by a Ukrainian drone. Harder to hit moving light armor with artillery, and light armor can hold up to near-misses, but maybe it’s just that things are dangerous for any vehicle near the front.

Unless we can provide some sort of counter-UAV system at large scale that can be rolled out to cover light armor ambulances, I’m not sure that there’s a great counter.
