A lot of subs seem to be staying dark (https://lemmy.nz/post/43541), but seems like r/nz will be back at 4pm.
I don’t think I’ll be going back, although not deleting my account just yet.
Anyone planning on heading back there full time? (no judgement!)
Reddit has slowly descended into more and more niche groups for me, and I’m unsubbed from almost all defaults. I’ll miss local or special interest groups like r/DIYnz, r/PersonalFinanceNZ, r/Chch. Maybe even r/newzealand. And some hobby groups like r/PrintSF, and r/cricket. I also mod a hobby subreddit with around 80k subs which looks to be voting to stay open, and I think I’ll probably be stepping away from it.
It’ll be interesting to see where these small subs end up heading - Lemmy seems like a good option.
