Hard to describe but if I have coffee sometimes I get this like tunnel vision / high contrast effect with my eyes, which I can assume is a result of caffeination.

Anyone else? No, just me? Ok I guess I’m crazy then.

Nope. Only thing I get is a headache when I don’t have any coffee

Similarly, does anyone kinda just zone out/tunnel vision when they steam milk?

I get the same effect from watching milk swirl as I do from staring at campfires, just like weirdly mesmerized. It was actually a problem when I first started as a barista, I’d get zoned out and burn my milk constantly!

Caffeine is a stimulant and stimulant psychosis is real. I take a very small amount of CBD (10mg weekly) which keeps me from developing eye twitches and, to some extent, I suspect, paranoia. I drink about a liter of light roast pourover every day, lol. I also do Chemex, and those bonded filters sure do suck out a ton of oil, which is not as tasty but gives me a much cleaner feel. I haven’t got the jitters since I switched from Aeropress, which is one step above eating coffee beans whole.

I’ve had vision issues once because I didn’t realize the cold brew recipe I’d gotten online brewed a concentrate and not just cold brew and had way too much of it
