I noticed that if I am on the main page for Lemmy, it has a websocket open and is constantly refreshing with new posts. This makes it impossible to use if you look at all new posts as there is a ton of content flooding in. That’s not a bad thing, but it does make it impossible to read what’s there.
Is there a way to disable the live feed and just show a static list of posts, then when I choose to refresh the page it will get more?
The websocket will soontm be removed from the frontend. It isn’t scalable and most people seem to prefer less live data on the site.
Yeah, this is a must have. Can’t stand it moving the list while I’m trying to click on something or read something
Really need a fix for this. I’ve tried sorting by “hot” because sort by “active” tends to have fairly old posts, but the feed auto-refreshes too quickly to browse when sorted by “hot”.
I am also looking for this solution. What have you found so far?
