I was served this page just now, it appears to be for a moderator or admin as there are some extra tools in the toolbar. After reloading this it went away and I couldn’t make it happen again.
Possibly there are some caching settings that need adjusting? Thinking of the admin team on this tough day with tons of traffic thank you for your hard work.
This reminds me of a similar problem Steam had back in 2015.
It’s not uncommon apparently.
It’s happened to me twice so far.. I supposed, the more strain on the server the more it shits the bed on this, but it is a security issue and needs to be resolved.
When it happened, I decoded the
JWT
and it wasn’t different than my regular one. It still had my ownsubid
as I usually have but for some reason, it shows me someone else’s username.I saw someone else’s user name in the top corner a couple of time while using lemmy.ml instead of my own instance. I think there’s some hastily configured caching going on, perhaps, where some non static content is being cached and served? Just a guess based on my own experience in similar circumstances.

Look at the top right of my screenshot, you will see some extra icons. I’m sorry, I should have included the URL: https://lemmy.ml/post/1212570?scrollToComments=true
