Let’s do a small Fediverse chess tournament! Everyone is welcome to join!

We will play 10-minute games (10+0) on lichess, a free and open-source chess website. You will be assigned an opponent and will have 2 days to schedule and play your match.

I will decide on the structure of the tournament (brackets, groups etc.) based on the number of sign-ups here :)

Sign up by commenting here with your lichess account name.

Signup deadline is Wednesday, 2pm UTC. Shortly after, I’ll announce the first pairings :)

Looking forward to some nice matches ❤️

    https://lichess.org/Rgr7yWOK: BabaDuda versus library_patron 1-0

A lot of swings, but hopefully still interesting. As black I was happy to go up in material, but although I knew I really had to keep an eye on king safety, that’s exactly what I failed to do.

(Also, as someone used to not playing with time controls, rapid feels so fast. I have no idea how people do blitz or bullet.)

Yeah that kingside push is always risky, your king was way too exposed imo

      Good game

Haha, yeah I suppose you have to get used to it
