The Edmonton subreddit is a huge and active one. I’m surprised there isn’t a community here yet for it, especially after seeing several other city communities such as Calgary and Lethbridge.
Just made it on Lemmy.ca I’ll need some help building it out, but at least it exists!
I messaged the mods on the Edmonton subreddit, so hopefully they’ll assist in getting it set up.
I heard back from the Reddit mods this morning and they are not interested in migrating nor supporting the Edmonton community on Lemmy. I suppose it’s up to us now!
If anyone is interested in jumping on board to give me a hand moderating, please reach out!
Also, the /r/edmonton mods have been pretty weird at times and I’ve grown to not trust the moderation. They also never joined the blackout, so I have no respect for them anymore tbh.
Well then I suppose this is an opportunity for us to start fresh. I haven’t even made up any sort of rules for the community yet, I’d like to get some input on those first
