I hate preordering, and have sworn to never do it again after getting burned too many times. But honestly, I can make an exception for Factorio!

I feel like lightning rods are going to be needed on this planet to protect your factory, but you will also be able to use them to generate electricity. The alien ruins are also interesting. I wonder if they will be required for research on this planet, as in you need to explore a little and find/fix an alien research building, or deconstruct them for artifacts. I also wonder what kinds of enemies you might find here? Ancient, self-replicating robots defending their long-gone masters from foreign invaders you?

Interesting. I wonder how much of those structures and ruins are usable, a mineable resource, or just set dressing.

    Ohhhh interesting.

    Several things spring to mind.

    1. Lore! I’ve play Space Exploration, the mod which creator (Earendel) Wube hire before announcing Space Age, and one of the most noticeable things about it their willingness to introduce more lore and environmental storytelling into the game. It’s not much, but even just letting the player discover that there’s a wreck of an orbital platform waiting to be be explored is enough to start building picture of the fact that something happened prior to your arrival. I see the threads to this FFF, and I’m excited.
    2. Wube definitely seem to be getting creative with the… Cinematography? If you can call it that? In this post. This is the most narratively driven thing I’ve seen coming out for Wube yet, and this may be me extrapolating, but I’ve got a feeling that Wube will be dipping their toes into something more story driven in the near future. I don’t know if it’s just for Space Age, or if it’s indicative of future projects, but it’s certainly interesting to see.
